John Liu
Chief Executive Officer of Essex Equity Capital Management and Managing Partner of Richmond Hill Investments
John Liu was elected to our Board of Directors in December 2024. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Essex Equity Capital Management, a financial services company, and Managing Partner of Richmond Hill Investments, an investment management firm, since March 2008. Mr. Liu has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Previously, he was employed by Greenhill & Co. for 12 years, where he held positions of increasing responsibility including Chief Financial Officer and Co-Head of U.S. Mergers and Acquisitions. He later served as Lead Independent Director of Greenhill and is currently an Independent Director of Whirlpool Corporation. Mr. Liu holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University.
