Technical Program Manager (TPM)

This position works in conjunction with the sales account manager and customer service personnel in all technical aspects of customer engagement. The TPM is responsible for first-level technical customer support, aids in the development of account strategy, and provides critical feedback on Amkor’s ability to align with customer needs. These activities can include technical Q&A, design generation, implementation of change notices, audit preparation and participation, resolution of technical issues, technical presentations and factory visits with the customer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive teams across Amkor sites for the successful roll-out of new programs to HVM
  • Drive/lead factory/customer technical projects and serve as a point of contact for quality and NPIs
  • Implements change notices; resolves technical issues
  • Communicate and manage all customer process and package roadmap strategies
  • Communicate all new customer technology requirements to the appropriate BU teams
  • Provide technical support to the sales manager and the rest of the sales team to improve customers’ satisfaction
  • Prepares and participate in audits and factory visits with customers


  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experience in the assembly process of the back-end of semiconductor; preferably in IC Advanced Packaging Technology
  • Knowledge of DOE, reliability requirements, material selection, FMEA, Failure Analysis and other quality and statistical tools
  • Self-driven and has excellent problem solving and organizational skills for daily customer support and managing ongoing and future programs
  • Able to communicate and present effectively in small and large groups
  • Able to work independently and as a team player with customers and worldwide cross-functional teams within the organization
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Able and willing to travel when needed
  • Flexible to work within US, Europe and Asia business time zones

Customer Service Representative

Maintain post-sale contact with existing clients in order to facilitate a positive and productive long-term relationship. Communicate with customers with regard to any account problems. Represent the voice of the customer to resolve issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all customer phone calls, emails, etc. Serve as primary contact for day-to-day communication with customers
  • Provide engineering build quotes to the customer through RFQ system and work closely with various functional teams
  • Responsible for all Mass Production Pricing Maintenance duties, including handling pricing issues, new device set up, updating master quote and customer portal
  • Work with billing team to identify and resolve pricing mismatches, contacting factories to seek clarification as needed. Work with customers to resolve and revise PO’s as needed and resolve payment issues
  • Generate Materials report to customers to drive for material disposition. Set up conference calls to educate customers on liabilities. Collect additional data as needed and work with customers to get payment issues resolved
  • Review Customer Forecast and Commits (review weekly and provide monthly capacity statement) and drive for high revenue attainment
  • Follow through on customer’s escalation, e.g. loading and shipment


  • Degree in any discipline preferably with Business/Management background
    3 – 5 years of relevant working experience in-house sales or customer service function and
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is an added advantage
  • Meticulous with an eye for details
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic work environment
  • Able to work both independently and as a team player with customers and worldwide cross-functional teams within the organization
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel

Manager/Senior Manager – Leadframe Product Line


  • Collaborate across leadframe product lines, manufacturing/factories and/or sales to drive operational excellence in asset optimization, capacity & utilization, delivery, cost and profitability
  • Interface with the leadframe product line’s largest customers OSAT operations teams in Singapore and Malaysia with a focus on growing Amkor’s market share with these customers
  • Align customer priorities with Amkor sales and product line teams. Support key customers’ initiatives and metrics such as price roadmaps, long-term demand planning, short-term demand fulfillment
  • Attend customers’ operations reviews of Amkor factory performance and develop plans with sales, product line and factory to improve factory performance against key customers’ KPI
  • Work with sales to close customer process change notifications (PCNs), develop and track value engineering projects (VEs) as agreed with product line team members

Core Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage operational enablement projects with leadframe product lines, manufacturing/factories and/or sales (60%)
  • Meet with customers operations teams to review key operational metrics (forecasts, demand and commit, cycle time, test utilization) (10%)
  • Work with sales, customer service and factory customer service on improving long term demand and short term demand fulfillment actions (10%)
  • Review new product introduction schedules with customer engineering teams and factory teams. Manage customer qualification schedule and release to production timing and volume expectations (10%)
  • Create and track customer value engineering programs and internal cost improvement actions (5%)
    Attend customer quarterly business reviews (5%)


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical), or material science is required
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience aligned to job responsibilities is required.
  • The candidate must be well versed in the semiconductor industry
  • Demonstrates ability to work with customers’ high-level operations team
  • Demonstrates ability to manage customer expectations aligned with Amkor factory capability and objectives
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects
  • Customer presentation skills, presentations to large audiences
